We already have Wal-Mart, Lonesome Pine Economy Drug, Norton Pharmacy, the addition of Cavalier Pharmacy (Don't know what it will be named in Norton) coming later in the summer, and now CVS once they move out of the old building are now in planning to build a brand new building on a block of dilapidated buildings running from 11th St - 12th Street near the Pepsi Cola Bottling and new Holiday Inn.
It is in the beginning stages but they are trying to buy that whole block to put the building and parking lot.
So my question is, how many of the pharmacies will survive. My guess is 3 (Wal-Mart for obvious reasons, "new" CVS, and "new" Cavalier Pharmacy) just because they have good ownership and are set up to survive. The Lonesome Pine Economy Drug and Norton Pharmacy will be the first ones to go, just depends on how quickly. I give them 1 year maybe 2 tops.
